How to keep teeth white between your whitening routine

Updated: Sep 9, 2019

Alongside your Glo32 whitening routine, here are some tips to keep your smile looking fresher for longer!

Food and Drink

What we consume on a daily basis can have a big impact on our teeth. Certain food and drink can be particularly rich in tannins – a naturally occurring molecule that can stick to the surface of your teeth and build up to cause staining and discolouration.

Some common items containing tannins include; wine, tea, coffee and berries. Whilst avoiding them completely isn’t practical, using a straw when drinking or being mindful of how often these foods are consumed will help prevent stains building up to keep your smile Glo-ing!

Smoking and Vaping

We don’t need to tell you the most obvious reason for avoiding smoking, but you might not know that it’s not great for your teeth either. Alongside yellowness caused by tobacco and tar, it can also result in gum disease and cancer.

Dental Checks & Hygienist

Attending your Dentist for regular check-ups is really important. The general recommendation is to book in an appointment every 6 months. As well as checking your mouth, teeth and gums, your Dentist and Hygienist will be able to clean off any stains that can’t be removed at home. Whitening works best on clean teeth, and allowing Glo32 to get to work on a clean tooth surface means you get a faster, more even and balanced result.

Brushing & Flossing

As well as going for check ups, hygienist appointments and eating the right things, the most important day-to-day consideration is how you keep your teeth clean at home! Up to 30% of our tooth surface is located between the teeth – one of the most common places stains and discolouration appear. Good habits like flossing or using interdental brushes will help to ensure you’re brushing all of the teeth and not just the bits that are easy to get access to. Remember; the cleaner the teeth are kept, the healthier the gums and the less staining there is!

For the best whitening results, we recommend using Glo32 products on clean and healthy teeth!
